LAHORE: Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is set to take on a key role, joined by his former teammates Asad Shafiq and Umar Gul in the coaching staff.
Shafiq has been appointed as batting coach, while Gul will serve as the bowling coach. Although Shafiq is already part of the men’s and women’s selection panels, this will mark his first experience in a formal coaching role.
On the other hand, Umar Gul brings prior coaching experience, having previously worked with Pakistan’s men’s white-ball teams. His inclusion is expected to strengthen the bowling department with his expertise and international experience.
The move signals a fresh approach, with experienced former players being integrated into the team’s support staff to guide the next generation of cricketers.
