ISLAMABAD: Amidst speculation surrounding a viral video clip depicting a heated exchange between Pakistan middle-order batter Saud Shakeel and former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed during the Test series against Australia, Saud Shakeel has stepped forward to dispel any misunderstandings.
The video, which circulated on social media, appeared to capture a tense moment between the Karachi-based players, with Shakeel questioning his utility to Ahmed. However, Shakeel has clarified that the clip was edited in a misleading manner, and the exchange was actually a friendly banter between them.
In an interview with a local sports website, Shakeel emphasized the strong bond he shares with Ahmed, likening their relationship to that of brothers. He explained that the edited video created a false impression of a serious altercation when, in reality, it was all in good spirits.
Furthermore, Shakeel addressed comments made by former captain Babar Azam, who referred to him as ‘chota don’ (little boss). Shakeel expressed his respect for Azam and acknowledged the learning opportunities he has had while being around the renowned batsman, whom he considers the best in the world.
