Schedule of Pakistan’s international cricket series 2024-25 unveiled

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) today announced the schedule of men’s 2024-25 home and away international cricket season, which includes four series, three T20I, three ODI bilateral, and one ODI tri-series.

The national team will compete in a three-Test series and participate in the first ODI tri-series in 21 years in the lead-up to the eight-team ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on home turf, PCB said in a press release.

In the curtain-raiser series of the 2024-25 home international season, Bangladesh will play two Tests in Rawalpindi (21-25 August) and Karachi (30 August-3 September). The international home season will end with the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final, proposed for March 9.

Pakistan will host Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the schedule of which is to be announced by the ICC. The opening match is proposed for Feb 19.

After the Bangladesh series, Pakistan will host England for three Tests in Multan (7-11 October), Karachi (15-19 October) and Rawalpindi (24-28 October).

Following England’sn red-ball series, the West Indies will visit for two Tests in Karachi (16-20 January) and Multan (24-28 January). Additionally, New Zealand and South Africa will participate in an ODI tri-series in Multan from 8-14 February.

Schedule of Pakistan’s away international matches 2024-25

Apart from the home international fixtures, the men’s national team will tour Australia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa for two Tests, nine ODIs, and nine T20Is from 4 November to 7 January.

Pakistan will travel to Australia for three ODIs in Melbourne (Nov 4), Adielede (Nov 8), and Perth (Nov 10). Green Shirt will play three T20Is at Brisbane, Sydney, and Hobart on Nov 14, Nov 16, and Nov 18, respectively.

Later this year, Men in Green will take on Zimbabwe in away ODIs and T20Is series at Bulawayo from November 24 to Decemebr 5. Concluding the Zimbabwe tour, the Pakistan national team will depart for South Africa for ODIs, T20Is, and Tests series from December 10 to January 7.

The nine Tests against Bangladesh, England, South Africa, and the West Indies will be part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25. To date, Pakistan has played five Tests in two series against Sri Lanka and Australia, winning two and losing three. This has placed them in fifth position on the points table with 22 points.
