ISLAMABAD: All-rounder Shadab Khan is likely to be included in the national team against Sri Lanka due to his impressive performance in the Big Bash League.

According to sources, the selection committee has started considering including Shadab Khan in the national squad. Shadab Khan was not part of the Asia Cup, South Africa and Sri Lanka series due to injury.

Shadab Khan may make a comeback to the national team in the Sri Lanka tour. Ahmed Daniyal and Moaz Sadaqat are also likely to join the national team in the Sri Lanka tour.

According to sources, several players participating in the BBL are likely to not be included in the Sri Lanka tour. Former captains Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi may be allowed to continue participating in the BBL.

Young players may be given a chance in place of senior players. The PCB selection committee will retain senior players in the World Cup squad. The national T20 team for the Sri Lanka tour may be announced next week.

Pakistan is scheduled to play three T20 matches in its tour of Sri Lanka. The T20 series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played from January 7 to 11.
