Shaheen Afridi becomes first Pakistani to reach 100 WTC wickets

DHAKA: (Web Desk) – Fast Bowler Shaheen Afridi has won the World Test Championship in the first Test match against Bangladesh.

The first match of the two-Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is being played in Dhaka, which is part of the World Test Championship. In this match, national team fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi created history by crossing an important milestone.

The left-arm fast bowler dismissed three players in Bangladesh’s first innings. As soon as he showed the way to the pavilion to opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy, he became the first Pakistani cricketer to complete 100 wickets in the World Test Championship.

Shaheen Shah Afridi achieved this honor in just 28 WTC matches, the closest to him among Pakistani bowlers is Nouman Ali, who has taken 89 wickets in 20 matches so far.

The record for the most wickets overall in the World Test Championship is held by Nathan Lyon, who has taken 224 wickets in 55 matches. Pat Cummins is in second place with 222 wickets in 54 matches, while Mitchell Starc is in third place with 221 wickets in 52 matches.
