LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Shahid Aslam as the Pakistan men’s cricket team’s batting coach a day after Aqib Javed was given the role of Pakistan’s white-ball interim head coach until Champions Trophy 2025.
The cricket board spokesperson on Tuesday confirmed that Shahid Aslam, former first-class cricketer, will serve as the full-time batting coach with the national squad.
Just a few days before the Zimbabwe tour, the PCB spokesperson said “Soon spin bowling coach would also be appointed for Pakistan as the board management was on the hunt for one.”
The newly-appointed batting coach has spent several years working as a support staff member for the Green Shirts and his first assignment will be the white-ball tour of Zimbabwe, before the South Africa tour.
The first ODI match between Pakistan and Zimbabwe will be played on November 24 (Sunday).
