CHITRAL: In a recent development, the Cultural and Tourism Authority Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced that the traditional Shandur Polo Festival will be held in Shandur from June 20 to 22.

The Shandur Polo Festival is being organized in collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government, Gilgit-Baltistan Government, and Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa North.

All preparations have been completed for the Shandur Festival at the world’s highest polo ground at an altitude of more than 12,000 feet amidst the soaring mountains.

In addition to polo matches, paragliders and paratroopers will showcase their skills at the Shandur Festival. As always, a large number of domestic and foreign tourists are ready to participate in the Shandur Festival.

The Shandur Polo Festival is an annual event held in July at Shandur Pass in Gilgit-Baltistan. It’s known as the “Roof of the World” and features traditional, freestyle polo matches between teams from Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan. Beyond polo, the festival includes cultural performances, music, and other activities.
