South Africa announces T20 World Cup 2026 squad

LAHORE: The CSA announced the inclusion of 15 members in the squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which is scheduled to start in Sri Lanka and India.

South Africa retain Aiden Markram as captain along with Quinton de Kock and experienced finisher David Miller. Where South African bowling unit consists of Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen, along teenage sensation Kwena Maphaka.

Donovan Ferreira, George Linde, Jason Smith, and Marco Jansen give options for all-around depth. Keshav Maharaj is the leader of the spin department, with Linde as an option as a second frontline spin.

The 2026 T20 World Cup is scheduled to start on February 7, 2026, and end on March 8, 2026. South Africa is grouped in Group D alongside New Zealand, the UAE, Canada, and Afghanistan, with the latter already announcing their squad for the World Cup along with Australia, England, and the defending T20 World Cup champions and hosts, India.

Match Day one of the T20 World Cup will be a triple-header with Pakistan taking on the Netherlands, India taking on the USA, and the West Indies against Bangladesh.
