COLOMBO: Two players from the Sri Lanka Under-19 cricket team have been arrested for allegedly filming women without consent at a hotel in the Narahenpita area of Colombo.

According to reports, the incident occurred while the team was staying at a hotel, where female guests lodged complaints that they were being secretly recorded using mobile phones while bathing.

Police acted on the complaints and took the two players into custody. However, both were later released on personal bonds worth 500,000 Sri Lankan rupees.

Authorities said an investigation is underway to determine whether the alleged videos were shared online.

The accused were presented before a local court for a preliminary hearing, with the next hearing scheduled for May 25.

So far, Sri Lanka Cricket has not announced any disciplinary action regarding the incident.
