DUBAI: Indian cricket team captain Suryakumar Yadav has landed himself in big trouble after making a controversial and political statement at the presentation ceremony after the Pakistan-India match in the Asia Cup.

According to Indian media, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken notice of the complaint of the Pakistan Cricket Board and has indicated action against the Indian captain.

After reviewing the evidence submitted by Pakistan, action has also been recommended against Suryakumar.

Indian media reports that after the match played against Pakistan in the group stage, Pakistan had formally filed a complaint with the ICC for Suryakumar Yadav using political language.

The matter is being monitored by match referee Richie Richardson, who has sent an email to the Indian team management.

Indian media said  that in the email, match referee Richie Richardson has clearly written that Suryakumar made inappropriate remarks against the interest of the game, which shows that the Indian captain has damaged the reputation of the game.

According to Indian media, the ICC is reviewing Pakistan’s complaint, and a formal hearing will be held soon, while two official reports have been received from Pakistan in this regard.

Indian media further says that the possibility of formal action against Suryakumar Yadav has increased.

It should be noted that Indian captain Suryakumar, while speaking in the presentation after winning the group stage match of the Asia Cup, made a controversial statement mentioning the Pahalgam incident.

It should be noted that in the fourth match of the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup, India has qualified for the final by defeating Bangladesh by 41 runs, while Pakistan is facing Bangladesh today.
