The T20 World Cup is a little over one month away with excitement building over what should be an important milestone in the game.

This time, a total of 20 teams will compete in the showpiece event, with sides split into four groups of five. The top two teams in each group will advance to the Super 8 round, and from there to the semi-finals and final.

For the first time, World Cup matches will be held in the US. A total of 16 matches will take place at venues in Lauderhill [Florida], Dallas, and New York. The venue in New York – the purpose-built Nassau County International Cricket Stadium – will host the biggest clash of the tournament between India and Pakistan on June 9.

The stadium can accommodate 34,000 people, and tickets cost anywhere from $175 to $400, or more than 100,000 Pakistani rupees, according to media reports.

There are three types of tickets available for the Pakistan-India match: Standard, Standard Plus, and Premium. The cost of a standard ticket is $175, or more than 48,000 Pakistani rupees. Standard Plus tickets cost $300, which is more than 83,000 Pakistani rupees. Premium tickets, on the other hand, cost $400, which is more than 100,000 Pakistani rupees.

Category Price in $ Price in PKR
Standard $175 48,000
Standard Plus $300 83,000
Premium $400 100,000

In addition, Pakistani supporters visiting the United States to witness the game will choose to spend their time in New York at nearby hotels. Nevertheless, hotel prices have gone up during the World Cup as well.

A well-known travel website claims that nightly rates at nearby hotels range from 10,000 to 100,000 Pakistani rupees. Experts, however, speculate that these rates might rise sharply in the run-up to the Pakistan-India game.
