T20 World Cup 2026: Five teams qualify for super eight

ISLAMABAD: The process of qualifying teams for the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup is ongoing, so far the five best teams have qualified for the Super Eight stage.

According to the details, 30 matches of the group stage of the T20 World Cup 2026 have been completed, while three more matches are scheduled today, after which the entry of two more teams will also be confirmed.

According to the points table, India from Group A, Sri Lanka from Group B, West Indies and England from Group C, while South Africa from Group D have qualified for the Super Eight stage.

If Pakistan fails to win its last match against Namibia, the decision to qualify for the Super Eight stage between the United States and Pakistan will be based on run rate. If the match is affected by rain, then Pakistan will still qualify for the Super Eight stage.

Based on the current run rate, the United States is second and Pakistan is third in Group A. If Pakistan loses to Namibia, the chances of the United States playing the Super Eight stage will become brighter, and Pakistan’s World Cup journey will be over. Therefore, if Pakistan wants to remain part of the World Cup, it will have to win the match against Namibia in any case. Even if the match is affected by rain, Pakistan will still qualify for the Super Eight stage.

In Group A, the Netherlands has won one match, while the Namibian team has failed to score any points so far.

In Group B, Sri Lanka has 6 points, and Zimbabwe is in second place with 4 points. If Zimbabwe wins today’s match, Zimbabwe will also have 6 points and Zimbabwe will also qualify for the Super Eight stage.
