LAHORE: Former Test cricketer Wahab Riaz has been appointed as a consultant for the Pakistan women’s national cricket team.
According to sources, Wahab Riaz was associated with the women’s cricket department for the past few weeks and has now been appointed as a consultant for the national team.
His formal appointment as consultant now makes him responsible for overseeing key aspects of team strategy, player development, and performance evaluation.
Sources said that Wahab Riaz will temporarily look after the affairs of the Women’s Cricket Team and work closely with the Director of Women’s Cricket to plan for the future.
His experience as a senior international cricketer, who represented Pakistan across all formats, is expected to bring valuable insight and professionalism to the women’s setup.
On the other hand, sources added that changes are also being made in the support staff of the women’s team, and former Test cricketer Imran Farhat is also likely to be included in the support staff of the Women’s Team.
According to sources, the PCB will soon announce the head coach and sports staff of the women’s national team. It should be noted that the post of Women’s Head Coach is vacant after the expiry of the tenure of Mohammad Wasim.
