LAHORE: Pakistan’s star all-rounder Mohammad Wasim Jr could miss the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh due to an injury, according to media reports.

Wasim sustained the injury in the Pakistan Super League X match and has not recovered since then. The medical staff has advised him to rest for some time.

Furthermore, Wasim Jr is expected to undergo rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). It is worth noting that the T20 series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is scheduled to begin tomorrow.

Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced that Sri Lankan Ranjan Madugalle, a member of the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, will lead the playing control teams for the three-match T20I series between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Lahore.

Madugalle, who has also officiated the most international cricket matches (804) across three formats as a match referee, also led the control teams in seven matches of the recently concluded HBL PSL X.

For the first T20I, Asif Yaqoob and Rashid Riaz – both part of the PCB International Panel of Umpires – will be the on-field umpires. ICC Elite Panel of Umpires member Ahsan Raza will be the third umpire while ICC International Panel Umpire Faisal Khan Afridi will officiate as the fourth umpire.

Rashid Riaz will take the field alongside Faisal Khan Afridi in the second T20I while Ahsan Raza will be the third umpire. Asif Yaqoob will be the fourth umpire.

For the third T20I, Ahsan Raza will be the on-field umpire alongside Asif Yaqoob, while Faisal Khan Afridi will be the third umpire. Rashid Riaz will act as the fourth umpire in the final T20I of the series.
