The latest Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 Leak suggests that Samsung may introduce major hardware upgrades in its next premium smartwatch. Reports indicate the device could feature a new processor and possibly support 5G connectivity.
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 later this year. The smartwatch may debut alongside the upcoming foldable phones, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8.
According to recent rumors, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could run on the newly announced Snapdragon Wear Elite processor. If this happens, it would be a notable change in Samsung’s smartwatch lineup.
Current reports say the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch9 may continue using the Exynos W1000 chip. This processor is already used in previous models such as the Samsung Galaxy Watch8 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch7.
Another key point from the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 Leak is the possibility of 5G connectivity. The existing Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra currently supports up to 4G networks.
If Samsung adds 5G support, it would be a significant improvement in connectivity. Faster data speeds could help users with streaming, calls, and connected apps on the smartwatch.
Samsung may also follow a similar strategy used by Apple. The company introduced 5G connectivity in the Apple Watch Ultra 3, which was released in September last year.
If the reports are correct, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 Leak indicates that Samsung’s next smartwatch could bring stronger performance and better connectivity when it launches later this year.
