ISLAMABAD: Google has introduced the AI Academy, a new initiative designed to foster the growth of artificial intelligence startups in Pakistan and the broader Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

The program aims to drive cross-border innovations and partnerships, facilitating the exchange of ideas, expertise, and resources to enhance AI development in the APAC region, potentially positioning it as a global AI hub.

The AI Academy will support over 20 startups working on AI technologies, providing them with access to Google’s global AI experts for personalized guidance.

Additionally, each startup will receive up to $350,000 in Google Cloud Credits to support AI development and experimentation. The program also offers networking and collaboration opportunities with other AI startups in the region.

Moreover, Google’s AI Academy is designed to accelerate startups’ time to market by helping them develop a proof of concept and a product roadmap, thereby validating their AI solutions more quickly. This initiative is expected to speed up their path to success and showcase the practical value of their innovations in AI.

Farhan S Qureshi, Google Pakistan’s Country Director, emphasized that the AI Academy reflects Google’s commitment to advancing AI development throughout the APAC region.

He expressed hope that local startups will leverage this opportunity to enhance their AI solutions and strengthen the regional AI ecosystem.

Applications for the program are open until August 16.
