ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has declared 2 GB of data for free and 200 on-net minutes for every mobile consumer in Pakistan to welcome 200 million telecom subscribers.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) takes pride in announcing a landmark milestone, surpassing 200 million telecom subscribers across the country.
With 150 million broadband and more than 2 million Fiber To The Home (FTTH) subscribers, this accomplishment marks Pakistan‘s fast-paced digital evolution and PTA‘s dedication to universal connectivity,” a PTA press release stated.
“PTA and CMOs (Jazz, Telenor, Ufone, Zong and SCO), as a gesture to this landmark success, are providing free 2GB Data + 200 On-Net Minutes (Valid for 24 Hours) on 20th June, 2025 to all mobile users.”
As per the PTA, the subscribers can access this offer by calling the short code *2200# (All Mobile Operators).
At the same time, the PTA, with PTCL and private sector companies, announced installing free Wi-Fi hotspots for six months at HEC-recognized selected universities, including women‘s universities, to equip students with enhanced access to digital resources.
As part of the festivities surrounding Pakistan reaching 200 million telecom subscribers, mobile producers have donated 2,000 locally produced smartphones to be given out among female SIM holders through computerized balloting in Pakistan, AJK, and GB.
