ISLAMABAD: Black Friday is nothing short of a tech lover’s dream as shoppers line up to get their hands on the iPhone 17 Pro at prices once thought impossible.

Deals and zero-cost deals spread like wildfire as Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile made headlines by offering Apple’s flagship device at unrealistic discounts.

Verizon customers can reportedly get the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max for no upfront cost when signing up for Unlimited Ultimate plans, while the standard iPhone 17 is also available without a trade-in on MyPlan when adding a new line. A

T&T is matching the hype with up to $700 in trade-in credits, potentially bringing the Pro Max down to a staggering $1,100 for a high-end device swap. T-Mobile is following suit, offering similar trade-in deals that could slash the Pro Max’s price by more than a thousand dollars.

E-commerce giant Amazon is running its biggest non-carrier sale yet. Apple’s AirPods 4 are available for 47% off. The 11-inch iPad Pro with the new M5 chip is down from $999 to $899 at select online stores, with the 256GB Ultra Retina XDR model proving to be the hottest item. Meanwhile, the Apple Watch SE 3 is now down from $200 at $199, Verizon is offering it for free with a trade-in, and AT&T is launching a “Two Watches” deal that knocks $300 off a second wearable.

Black Friday Alert

Black Friday has become a prime target for cybercriminals, with the day being dubbed “Black Fraud Day.” Fraudsters are using AI and months of preparation to create fake websites and send phishing emails that mimic major retailers like Amazon and eBay, with the goal of stealing credit card information and personal data.

Fraudulent tactics include fake delivery notifications, emails that offer too-good-to-be-true deals, and deceptive online ads.

Experts warn that shoppers should carefully check URLs, watch emails and texts, avoid public Wi-Fi, monitor bank statements, and use price-tracking tools to avoid fake deals.
