ISLAMABAD: The National Cybercrime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has informed users about the emergency protocol in case WhatsApp is hacked.
According to NCCIA officials, if your WhatsApp is hacked and you lose access to your account or you suspect that someone else is using it, then immediately re-register, uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp.
Enter your phone number to log in to WhatsApp, you will receive a 6-digit code via SMS, enter it immediately.
According to officials, the advantage of the code is that as soon as you enter the code, your WhatsApp will be logged out from the hacker’s mobile immediately because WhatsApp can be active on only one mobile at a time.
According to officials, if the hacker has turned on “Two-Step Verification” and you do not know the PIN, WhatsApp may ask you to wait for 7 days, do not worry about waiting for these 7 days.
By the time you enter the SMS code (Step 1), the hacker is logged out, so no one can use your account or read your messages during this wait.
According to authorities, if you previously linked an email address, click “Forgot PIN” and reset your PIN immediately without waiting.
