KARACHI: Pakistan’s advanced remote sensing satellite was successfully launched into space from China’s Xichang Satellite Launch Center today.
Experts and scientists from Pakistan’s space research organization, The Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), are present at the Chinese launch center to ensure the successful completion of the mission.
According to Suparco, this satellite is a breakthrough in Pakistan’s space program and a major step towards technological self-reliance.
The special launch ceremony was broadcast live at the Suparco headquarters in Karachi, while a video message from Project Director Dr. Muhammad Yasir will also be broadcast from China.
According to a Suparco spokesperson, the remote sensing satellite will help Pakistan develop infrastructure, monitor urban sprawl, and provide timely and effective warnings about natural disasters such as floods, landslides, and earthquakes.
Experts say that this satellite will not only identify geographical hazards in time, but can also be used as an effective assistant in important development projects like CPEC.
DG Suparco Iftikhar Bhatti said that this is a very happy occasion as Pakistan’s space research is progressing.
Today’s satellite launch is a clear proof of Pakistan’s capabilities. Pakistan is a responsible country. This satellite will provide us with important support in agriculture and ground realities.
He said that Pakistan has sent more satellites in the past, and it also has the ability to analyze satellite data.
Awareness of earthquakes and floods, and monitoring of earth movements. From water shortage and melting of glaciers to heat intensity and the effects of changing weather, Suparco is proud of it, may Allah be our supporter and supporter.
