Trump confirms trade deal between Pakistan and US

WASHINGTON: United States  President Donald Trump has announced that the trade agreement between the two countries,
Pakistan and the USA have been completed, through his post on Truth Social.

In his statement on social media, President Trump said that the trade deal with Pakistan has been finalized and now the two countries will work together to develop the energy sector, especially oil facilities.

President Trump said that we are currently in the process of selecting an oil company that will lead this partnership.

He gave a glimpse of the future and said that one day, Pakistan may be seen selling oil to India.

U.S. Trade Deal with Pakistan

Moreover, A trade agreement between Pakistan and the United States has been successfully concluded, aiming to promote bilateral trade, increase market access, attract investment, and promote cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

According to the Ministry of Finance, this development was announced during a meeting between Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, as well as US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.

Secretary of Commerce Jawad Paul and Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh were also present at the meeting.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the Pak-US agreement will result in a reduction in mutual tariffs, especially tariffs on Pakistani products in the US, as this agreement will usher in a new era of economic cooperation between the two countries in key economic sectors, especially energy, minerals, IT, cryptocurrency, and others.

Finance Ministry added that this agreement will be helpful in Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to promote trade relations with the US, especially to extend these relations to the US states.

The agreement will provide both countries with better access to each other’s markets and is expected to increase US investment in Pakistan’s infrastructure and development projects.

The statement said that this trade agreement reflects the commitment of the leadership of both countries to further deepen bilateral relations and strengthen trade and investment ties.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed the deal in a message on the social networking website. Ishaq Dar had said that a trade deal with the US has been reached.
