ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif paid a visit to the under-construction Technology Park in Islamabad on Thursday, expressing his disappointment with the project’s poor progress.

During the visit, the Prime Minister instructed the authorities to speed up development and guarantee that the facility was completed within the originally scheduled period.

According to a news release from the Prime Minister’s Office, he highlighted that the project must fulfill global infrastructure and amenity requirements.

“All stakeholders must accelerate their efforts to complete the Technology Park as soon as possible,” Prime Minister Shehbaz directed, emphasizing the project’s importance for Pakistan’s IT industry, job creation, and economic growth.

According to the Prime Minister’s briefing, the facility has two basement floors, a ground floor, and nine upper floors, which include offices, an incubation center, a business support center, R&D laboratories, a Level III data center, an auditorium, and parking for 1,200 vehicles.

Officials stated that the initiative intends to offer job possibilities for young people, boost Pakistan’s global IT competitiveness, encourage economic growth, and bridge the digital gap.
