ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has released its Quality of Service (QoS) Survey report for the second quarter of 2024, showing the service quality of cellular mobile operators across Pakistan.
PTA surveyed 23 cities across the country, which revealed that Zong and Jazz remained the top performers in several categories including network speed and latency, while, Ufone and Telenor failed to maintain competitive speeds and connection reliability.
The survey, conducted over 83 days, assessed operators on crucial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including data upload speeds, call connection time, SMS send time, and network latency.
During the survey, over 0.38 million mobile broadband tests and 57,500 call and SMS assessments were carried out in accordance with the Cellular Mobile Network Quality of Service (QoS) Regulations 2021.
According to the Quality of Service (QoS) Survey Zong led with the highest download throughput, followed closely by Jazz, while Ufone and Telenor posted slower results.
As per call connection and SMS performance, Ufone ranked above for SMS send time, but call connection times across Telenor and Ufone were slower compared to Zong and Jazz.
Zong topped with the lowest network latency (26.1 ms), indicating quicker data transmission, with Jazz following at 33.7 ms. Ufone (41.9 ms) and Telenor (38.7 ms) showed slower responsiveness.
