WhatsApp introduces new features including missed call notifications
ISLAMABAD: WhatsApp has rolled out a brand new desktop app for its users in Pakistan. The new version replaces the older Windows application and offers a fresh, modern look with better performance.
This new application is based on a web wrapper system, and that is what gives it a cleaner interface with better feature integrations. The rollout is happening in phases, meaning that some users will be able to see the update sooner than others. WhatsApp itself confirmed that the new desktop experience will reach devices gradually.
The new version of WhatsApp for desktop is supposed to look and feel much closer to the web experience. The old app was built as a native Windows program but faced stability problems frequently. The new version focuses on smoother performance, more consistent updates, and a layout matching the mobile and web versions.
While the interface now looks more modern, the app definitely relies more on system resources. Users report it occupies more memory compared to its previous lightweight version; for most users, however, it is faster and more responsive.
Since the update rolls out step by step, not everyone sees it immediately. If your desktop app has not updated yet, here are a few things to check.
