ISLAMABAD: YouTube enables content creators to produce artificial intelligence-based digital versions of themselves, which they can use for their Shorts content.

The platform states that creators can use these avatars to produce videos that replicate their actual appearance and voice in a safe environment according to established guidelines.

The feature requires users to be at least 18 years old while maintaining an active YouTube account. The YouTube app and YouTube Create app enable eligible users to start their process by using a secure live selfie capture system to record their face and voice.

How to Create YouTube AI Avatars

Users can use prompts to generate scenes after they create their avatar. The system enables creators to add their AI avatar to existing YouTube Shorts videos, which results in more authentic video production.

Third-party platforms already offer similar tools that deliver results that exhibit high accuracy in both visual and audio elements. The integration brings similar capabilities to YouTube through its internal system.

YouTube provides users with controls that enable them to manage the feature. Creators who want to stop using the tool can choose to delete all their avatar information, together with any videos they created.

Users have a feature that enables them to control how other people can access their avatar for use in remixed videos. The AI avatar feature currently functions exclusively for Shorts content.

The feature currently works only for Shorts, but its future development will enable it to support long-form video content. The feature will affect content creation in an unknown way because the boundaries between authentic material and artificial content continue to change.
