RAWALPINDI: Aleema Khan, the sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has dismissed reports that the PTI founding chairman is engaged in any political deal. Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail on Tuesday, she said Imran Khan has made it clear that no such talks are taking place.

Aleema Khan said her brother has clarified three important points and has clearly rejected any kind of talks with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). According to her, the PML-N has destroyed the moral values of the country and political understanding with such elements is not possible.

She added that Imran Khan had stressed that no deal was underway and if any talks were held in the future, they would be only for the larger interest of Pakistan. Aleema added that he has reiterated his commitment to the principle of Amr bil Maroof (encouraging goodness) and he stands firmly with the truth.

Aleema Khan remarked that Imran Khan believes that those who were offered NRO in the past cannot be trusted and that they do not believe that such people are telling the truth.

Earlier in the day, she complained about not being allowed to meet her brother despite a court order, and said that only two meetings were allowed in nine weeks. She said that she was allowed to meet him only once during that period. She warned that if the authorities did not allow the scheduled meeting, she and others would not leave the jail premises.

She also alleged that Imran Khan refused to meet PTI lawyer Faisal Chaudhry, saying that she believed Chaudhry was sent by the establishment, and that she would not meet anyone sent through such channels.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s two sisters, Uzma and Noreen Khan, were allowed to meet him in Adiala Jail. Former First Lady Bushra Bibi also met her daughter Mubashara Sheikh and sister-in-law Mehrunisa. However, Aleema Khan, cousin Qasim Zaman Khan, and Muhammad Sheikh were reportedly denied access.

On the other hand, senior party leaders including PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Salman Akram Raja and Ali Zafar were allowed to meet the PTI founder. After the meetings, all the family members and party leaders left the jail premises.
