TEHRAN: Iranian President Masoud Peshkeshian has announced that the anniversary of the historic US defeat in the Tabas Desert will be marked on May 5.

Iranian President Masoud Peshkeshian said in a statement that with the help of Allah, American arrogance was crushed in the Tabas Desert. And this event is an important turning point in the history of Iran.

He said that this year too, another “Tabas”-like situation began in southern Isfahan. Which is a sign of the enemy’s failure. Just as natural conditions proved against the enemy in the past, Iran’s defense is in strong hands today as well.

He expressed the hope that such historical defeats prove to be a lesson for the world’s major powers and that aggressive policies will be avoided in the future.
