LAHORE: Tayyaba Raja, a dedicated worker of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been released from Kot Lakhpat Jail after spending time behind bars in connection with the Jinnah House arson case. This development came following a decision by a two-member bench of the Lahore High Court, which granted her bail.
Ms. Raja’s release marks the end of her incarceration linked to the Jinnah House arson case, which dates back to May 2023. She was arrested on allegations of involvement in the burning of the Governor’s House in Lahore, also known as Jinnah House, during protests that ensued after PTI’s removal from power. Throughout her time in custody, she maintained her innocence and consistently denied any involvement in the incident.
