ISLAMABAD: The residents of twin cities Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been enjoying light intermittent rain and pleasant weather for the last few days as the Monsoon season finally begins in the country.

The light thundershowers, which are expected to continue all day long, will provide much-needed relief to the residents from the scorching heat and dry weather.

Moist currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are penetrating most of Pakistan, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), and a westerly wave is prevailing over most of Pakistan.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country.
However, rain-wind/thundershower is expected at isolated places in Kashmir, upper Punjab, Potohar region, Islamabad, and Upper/central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A few heavy falls are also likely during the period.
