ISLAMABAD: A new spell of gusty thunderstorms and rain is expected for Islamabad in the evening as the mercury soars beyond 40 degrees Celsius in the federal capital.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), rain is also predicted in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Sargodha, while rain has also been forecast for Khushab, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Gujrat, and Gujranwala.
Similarly, the downpours could also potentially develop around Mianwali, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Sheikhupura, with isolated thunder‑showers developing around Jhang, Noorpur Thal, and Bhakkar.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can expect rain will likely fall on Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Battagram, Swabi, and Mansehra, while showers are likely to fall in Abbottabad, Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Kurram, Khyber, Waziristan, and Bannu, but a possibility of some isolated showers could develop around Kohat, Hangu, Karak, and Dera Ismail Khan.
Gilgit‑Baltistan and Azad Kashmir are also in line for windy, thundery showers,“ this portion states. Conversely, the majority of Balochistan will remain hot and very dry, adds the Met Office.
