LAHORE: According to the latest report issued by the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain extremely hot and dry in most of the plain areas of the country today.
However, despite this intense heat, thunderstorms have been strongly expected in various hilly and upper areas of Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Citizens will feel the intense heat due to the continuous increase in temperature in major cities like the federal capital Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi.
However, the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain with dusty winds in some areas of the provincial capital Lahore during the next 24 hours, which is expected to slightly reduce the intensity of the humidity and heat and improve the weather.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to become more severe and hot in all plain districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the provincial capital Peshawar, during the coming week, in view of which citizens have been strictly advised to take precautionary measures in their daily affairs.
On the other hand, thundershowers are expected at a few places in the upper districts of the province, especially in Dir, Swat, Chitral and various areas of Bannu, which may break the heat in these specific areas.
In view of this changing and severe weather situation, the Meteorological Department has sincerely advised all citizens to be cautious, avoid unnecessary going out in the scorching sun and avoid any kind of unnecessary travel.
