Pakistan to witness first monsoon spell from June 25

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is set to welcome its first spell of monsoon rains starting from June 25, 2025, on Tuesday.

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Deputy Director Anjum Nazir has predicted that the first spell will start from June 25 (Wednesday) and continue till July 2.

He said that Karachi is currently experiencing intense heat due to a low pressure area over the Arabian Sea and it is felt that the temperature may rise to 50 degrees Celsius.

He added that the weather conditions are expected to improve by tomorrow evening with the full restoration of sea breezes. “The sky is expected to remain cloudy from June 19, with light drizzle in the morning and evening.”

Meanwhile, the weather is likely to remain mostly hot and dry in most parts of the country during the next twelve hours.

However, dusty weather with partly cloudy/thunderstorm is likely at a few places in North-East Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and South-East and East Sindh.

Temperatures of major cities recorded this morning:

Islamabad 25, Lahore 29, Karachi 31, Peshawar 26, Quetta 22, Gilgit and Muzaffarabad 20 and Murree 18 degrees Celsius.

According to the weather forecast of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the weather is likely to be partly cloudy with rain and thundershowers in Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramula.
