ISLAMABAD: In a recent weather forecast, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that the ongoing extreme heatwave will persist up to June 21, 2025.
During the day in Islamabad and in the rest of the nation, temperatures are going to be critically high, putting vulnerable populations at risk.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab plains, extremely hot day conditions will dominate, and upper and central Sindh, as well as southern and eastern Balochistan, will also face non‑stop heat every day.
The authorities have asked people to drink plenty of water, avoid stepping out during the peak hours of the day, and follow warnings about heat strokes.
Hospitals have been instructed to be ready for a surge of patients with heat‑related ailments, and aid agencies are deploying to deliver water and cooling equipment to affected areas.
Whereas, the residents are advised to stay hydrated and to carry an umbrella if going out for longer time periods to get some shade under the scorching sun.
