ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has forecast rain and snowfall in various parts of the country today. According to the department, most areas will experience cold weather with partly cloudy skies, while hilly regions are expected to remain severely cold during morning and night hours.

Tonight, rain is expected at some locations in Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir, with light snowfall predicted in the mountainous areas of these regions.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an advisory for rainfall and snowfall from today until December 18. During this period, precipitation is expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kohistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and Balochistan.

According to NDMA, western winds will affect northern and western Pakistan, potentially increasing fog intensity. While plains may experience light to moderate rain, hilly and northern areas are likely to see snowfall.
