ISLAMABAD: Rain-windstorm/thunderstorm expected over the upper and central regions of the country in the next couple of days. A well-marked low-pressure system (WML) is currently over the Gulf of Kutch, causing moist currents to penetrate Sindh.
Moist currents from the Bay of Bengal are also likely to infiltrate upper Punjab from tonight, and moist currents from both the north Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal will intensify from 4th to 6th October.
Apart from that, a new Western Disturbance (WD) is expected to approach the upper reaches of the country tonight. It is expected to get intensified from 3rd October and may last till 7th October. Under the influence of these weather conditions:
Punjab/Islamabad: Rain-windstorm/thunderstorm is likely to occur at isolated locations in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Mianwali, and Khushab from tonight to 03rd October.
Widespread rain-windstorm/thunderstorm with scattered heavy-falls is likely to occur in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal Mianwali, Khushab, Noorpurthal, Bhakkar, Layyah, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Pakpattan, Bahawalnagar, Vehari, Khanewal, Multan, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan, Rajanpur, Kot Addu and Dera Ghazi Khan from 4th to 6th October. Hailstorms are also likely to occur during the period.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa: Extensive rain-windstorm/thunderstorm with scattered heavyfalls/hailstorm is likely to occur in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Kohat, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Waziristan, Tank, and Dera Ismail Khan during 2nd to 7th October.
Kashmir/Gilgit-Baltistan: Rain-windstorm/thunderstorm is likely to occur at scattered places in Kashmir (Neelum valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur) and Gilgit-Baltistan (Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar) on 2nd and 3rd October.
Large-scale rain-windstorm/thunderstorm with scattered heavyfalls/hailstorm is likely in Kashmir (Neelum valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur) and Gilgit-Baltistan (Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar) from 4th to 7th October.
Sindh: Rain-windstorm/thunderstorm with scattered heavy falls is likely in Tharparker (Mithi, Islamkot, Nagarparkar, Chachro, Dhali, Diplo, Kaloi), Umer Kot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Khairpur, Matiari, Tando Allayar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Karachi, Thatta, Badin, and Sajawal from night to 3rd October.
Balochistan: Rain-windstorm/thunderstorm is likely at scattered places in Zhob, Sherani, Loralai, Kohlu, Barkhan, Dera Bugti, Musakhel, Qila Saifullah, Quetta, Ziarat, Sibbi, and Naseerabad from 4th (Night) to 6th October.
