KUWAIT: On the auspicious occasion of Eid al-Adha, the Kuwaiti government announced 6 consecutive holidays for government employees and the public.
According to the decision issued in view of the Day of Arafa and Eid al-Adha, holidays will be applicable in ministries, government institutions, public agencies and other government departments across the country.
According to foreign media, an important meeting of the Kuwaiti cabinet was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, in which approval was given regarding the holidays for Eid al-Adha. According to the official announcement, the holidays will start from Tuesday, May 26, 2026 and will continue until Friday, May 29.
The announcement stated that weekly holidays, i.e. May 30 and 31 (Saturday and Sunday), will also be included in this period, due to which government employees will be able to get a total of 6 consecutive days of holidays. All government offices will resume normal work from Monday, June 1, 2026.
Kuwaiti authorities clarified that institutions whose services are of public interest or sensitive nature will determine the duty schedule and working hours according to their needs after consulting with the relevant authorities so that essential services are not affected.
On this occasion, the Kuwaiti cabinet congratulated the Emir of Kuwait and citizens and foreigners living in the country on Eid al-Adha and prayed that this holy festival may bring peace, progress, prosperity and blessings to the entire Muslim Ummah, including Kuwait.
