TEHRAN: The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said that airstrikes have been carried out in southern Iran, targeting drone-launching facilities, according to US media reports.

According to CENTCOM, Iranian mine-laying boats were also targeted. CENTCOM says that the US military will defend US forces by exercising restraint during the ongoing ceasefire.
Earlier, several explosions were heard in the Iranian city of Bandar Abbas.
Iranian media had said that the situation in Bandar Abbas is under control and there is no cause for concern.
On the other hand, Al Jazeera’s affiliated journalist Ali Hashem while quoting a source, reported intense gunfire after the Iranian army targeted a vessel at sea near Bandar Abbas.
“An Iranian source told me the heavy gunfire heard near Bandar Abbas erupted after the IRCG targeted a vessel at sea, followed by US fighter jests striking IRGC naval boats in the Gulf.”
According to the source, he continued, several IRGC Navy personnel were killed in the attack. “The situation is still unfolding,” he quoted the sources as having said.
