Per a blog post from Binance, Cristiano Ronaldo commented:

“My football journey has seen me travel around the world, and I’ve been honored to play for some of the most prestigious clubs out there. Now it’s your turn to join me on that journey too.”

The amount of NFTs in the new collection will not be disclosed until the series debuts, and the cost has not yet been mentioned. The post did, however, clarify that while the price for “the final Super Rare NFT” in the collection will vary, the price for each “Normal NFT” will remain the same.

In addition to benefits inside the digital sphere, past NFT events with Cristiano Ronaldo included a premium experience where holders were asked to play football with the icon himself as part of the Binance promotion.

The football player was sued in a class action lawsuit in a United States federal court in Florida for his prior involvement in NFT collection sales with Binance, as Cointelegraph reported back in November 2023.

Ronaldo “promoted, assisted in, and/or actively participated in the offer and sale of unregistered securities in coordination with Binance,” according to the plaintiffs in the lawsuit, and he should have known that Binance was engaged in these kinds of actions.

The suit against Cristiano Renaldo stemmed from Binance’s previous legal issues culminating in founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao being found guilty in the U.S. of enabling fraud. He was sentenced in April of 2024 to serve four months in detention for his part in an alleged money laundering scheme.
