Donald Trump sworn in as 47th US President

WASHINGTON: The newly elected US President Donald Trump took the oath of office, here on Monday.

US Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts administered the oath of office to President Trump.

Before the ceremony, Trump met with President Biden at the White House. Trump also attended a prayer service at a church in Washington with his wife Melania Trump.

Due to the severe cold in Washington DC, the swearing-in ceremony was held indoors after 40 years.

Many political figures from Pakistan and Pakistani Americans also attended Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony. The foreign ministers of Japan, India, and Australia also attended the swearing-in, and the vice president of China represented his country.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and TikTok CEO Shu Qiu were also present at the ceremony.

Before the swearing-in, a rally was held at the Capital One Arena to celebrate Trump’s victory.
