DUBAI: Traveling to Dubai has become easier for foreigners, including Pakistanis, who plan to stay in the Gulf country for a short period.

According to a Gulf News report, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, highlighting efforts to simplify the entry procedure for foreign tourists, said that those interested can obtain a single-entry tourist visa within 48 hours after completing the required steps of submitting the application.

The single-entry tourist visa is available for 30 or 60 days and is issued within 48 hours after submitting all the required documents.

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs said in a statement on Instagram that applicants can apply through approved travel agencies, which process these applications under a very simple and fast procedure designed to make the travel experience the best and easiest.

According to the authorities, applicants will have to submit a passport photo, a copy of a valid passport, and a national identity card of their country for those holding certain citizenships.

Once the required documents are complete, the application is processed within a short period of time.

The move is part of Dubai’s ongoing efforts to further strengthen the country’s position as a leading global tourist destination by expanding digital services in line with its rapidly growing tourism and travel sector and simplifying the tourist journey from application to arrival.

Representatives of accredited tourism agencies said that tourist visa applications are often approved within a few hours once all requirements are met.

According to them, some tourists receive their visas within just two to three hours, which demonstrates Dubai’s commitment to making the arrival process easier and faster.
