Earthquake of magnitude 4.6 jolts Tehran, no major damage reported

TEHRAN: Earthquake tremors were felt in the Iranian capital Tehran, with a magnitude of 4.6. According to Iranian media, the tremors were felt in the border area of ​​Tehran and Mazandaran province.

According to the Seismological Center, the depth of the earthquake was recorded at 10 kilometers, while some Iranian media reports said the depth was 8 kilometers.

According to Reuters, Iranian state media quoted the country’s Seismological Center as saying that panic and fear spread among citizens after the earthquake, but according to initial reports, no casualties or major financial losses were reported. According to Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB, the earthquake occurred in the border area of ​​Tehran and Mazandaran.

Officials say that the situation in the affected areas is being assessed, while relief agencies are on alert. After the earthquake, the local administration has instructed citizens to take precautionary measures. According to officials, there has been no confirmation of major damage to any building or injuries to citizens so far.
