DHAKA: National Test team captain Shan Masood has said on the defeat in the first Test against Bangladesh that he will not blame anyone, he will take responsibility himself, things become difficult when there is a break in Test cricket.

While holding a press conference in Dhaka, Shan Masood said that Naheed Rana demonstrated team planning and excellent bowling, it was disappointing to lose, we hoped that our set-batsmen would have taken the game long, but unfortunately, this happened to them, if our set-batsmen had played long, we could have drawn the match.

Shan Masood said that the positive thing is that Azan Owais and Abdullah Fazal played well, Abdullah got a hair on his head during training this morning, but despite this, he showed good courage, both young batsmen will mature more by playing more Test cricket.

The Test captain said that as a captain, I will not say that the bowler or the batter did not play well. The bowler bowled well in a few sessions. Bangladesh’s Najmul Hossain Shinto and Momin-ul-Haq played well. We felt that the match got out of hand because of Momin-ul-Haq and Shinto’s partnership.

Shan Masood said that in my opinion, this was the best Test pitch. The spinners helped the fast bowler take wickets. After getting the target, we decided to play according to the conditions. The match was in control until the tea break. Whenever we lose a match, emotions run high. We have to play responsibly as a team.

He said that in the second Test match, we will try to learn from our mistakes and play well. I will not blame anyone for the defeat. I will take responsibility myself. As a captain, I try to improve things. In modern-day cricket, a player adjusts himself everywhere. Things become difficult when there is a break in Test cricket.
