ISLAMABAD: Dubai has imposed an immediate ban on the entry and transit of Iranian nationals.

A major update issued by flydubai states that with immediate effect, Iranian nationals will not be allowed to enter or transit through Dubai. The ban applies to all Iranian passport holders, UAE resident visa holders and visit or tourist visa holders.

The announcement states that Iranian nationals who are currently outside the UAE, even if they are UAE residents, will also not be allowed to enter the country and this will be enforced through the app system.

However, there is an exception for close relatives (parents, spouses, children and siblings) of UAE nationals, provided that they obtain approval from the relevant authorities before travel.

The airline has instructed all its partners to strictly adhere to the ban and refrain from booking or accepting passengers who fall under its scope, except for those who meet the conditions of the exemption.
