TEHRAN: Iran has launched the 54th wave of Operation Promised Truth against Israel, in which the powerful ‘Sajil Strategic Ballistic Missile’, which targets long-range targets, has been used in practice for the first time by the Iranian armed forces.

Iran’s counter-attacks in response to the American and Israeli aggression are continuing rapidly. In this regard, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards say that the 54th wave of the attack has been named ‘Yazhara’, enemy targets in the region have been targeted with missiles, and Sajil missiles have been used for the first time.

The Iranian missile Sajil is a solid-fuel missile that has been used for the first time since the aggressive war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28, and it was claimed that this missile targeted the Israeli government’s command and control centers and important military installations.

According to Al Jazeera, Sajil is said to mean a stone. It is a solid-fuel ballistic missile with an estimated range of 2,000 to 2,500 kilometers (1,240 to 1,550 miles), while its speed is said to be more than (Mach 13), that is, 13 times faster than the speed of sound. Its special feature is that it can be launched in a relatively short time.

According to the magazine The National Interest, this missile is capable of hitting targets in countries as far as Egypt, parts of Sudan, most of Ukraine, parts of southern Russia, part of western China, India and vast areas of the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.

According to Iranian media, the term Sajil also refers to an incident described in Surah Al-Fil of the Holy Quran, where the destruction of an attacking enemy by Sajil stones is mentioned.
