TEHRAN: A Russian diplomat has claimed that Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is present inside the country but is not appearing in public for security reasons.

The British news agency Reuters has reported, citing Russian media, that according to the Russian ambassador to Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei is present in Iran and is not appearing in public for “understandable reasons”.

Despite the fact that the ongoing war in West Asia has been ongoing for more than a month, Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared in public, due to which various speculations are being made about his presence and condition at the global level.

It should be remembered that Mojtaba Khamenei assumed the position of Supreme Leader after the assassination of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a US and Israeli attack on February 28, but he has not appeared in public since then.

All of his statements, including his first speech on March 12 and his Nowruz message on March 20, were issued in written form and read out on state TV.

On the other hand, US President Donald Trump recently claimed that Iran’s new leader could be “dead or seriously injured”, further raising doubts about his condition.
