OMAN: The Omani government has announced two public holidays for its citizens this week, which are being given in conjunction with the National Day. All government and private institutions will remain closed on these days.
There will be a public holiday on Wednesday, November 26 and Thursday, November 27 to mark the National Day, while normal work will resume on Sunday, November 30.
This is the first time that the National Day will be celebrated for two days in Oman. The change was implemented by a royal decree of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. Previously, the National Day was celebrated on November 18. The implementation of the new dates aims to provide citizens and residents with more time to fully participate in national celebrations, celebrate the country’s history, culture and unity so that they can be proud of its development achievements.
