Pakistan decides to facilitate trade with Iran

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has taken a major decision to facilitate trade with Iran and has allowed trade with Iran for a third country through Pakistan.

The Ministry of Commerce has also issued a notification of the Goods Transit Order 2026 through Pakistan, which will come into effect immediately.

According to the notification, trade with Iran for a third country has been allowed through Pakistan. The federal government has made amendments to the Import and Export Control Act 1950. This order will be applicable to the transportation of transit goods that depart from a third country.

The notification issued by the Ministry of Commerce said that the Gwadar and Gabd routes will be included for the transportation of goods from Pakistan, and the routes of Karachi Port Qasim, Lyari, Mara, Pasni, Khuzdar, Dalbandin and Taftan are also included.

Similarly, the routes of Gwadar, Turbat, Hoshab, Panjgur, Nag, Besima, Quetta Lak Pass, Nokundi and Gwadar have also been included.

According to the notification, the movement of goods will be carried out under the rules made under the Customs Act 1969, the movement of goods will be in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the FBR.

The Ministry of Commerce said that goods going to Iran from a third country will be able to pass through Pakistan, Gwadar port has also been given status for commercial purposes, financial guarantee has been made mandatory for transit cargo, customs procedures will be implemented under the FBR rules.
