WASHINGTON: According to a top-secret Pentagon report, if the United States intervenes in the event of a war on Taiwan, it will be very likely to be defeated by China.
According to a foreign news agency, various scenarios of a Chinese attack on Taiwan were created in the Pentagon’s war games. In which it was seen that China can paralyze American fighter jet squadrons, large warships and satellite networks before they can be effectively deployed. This warning was given in the secret document Overmatch Brief.
According to the report, this document was prepared by the Pentagon’s Office of Net Assessment. In which it was stated that America’s reliance on expensive and modern weapons makes it vulnerable to China’s rapidly developing cheap weapons.
It was said that China has acquired such a capability. Which can disable important US military assets at the very beginning of any potential conflict.
It should be noted that this report has come out at such a time. When Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiechi warned the United States a few days ago. That they should handle the Taiwan issue with extreme caution.
The report said that China’s rapidly developing arsenal, especially its long-range precision-guided missiles, expanding fleet of modern aircraft, large ships and space capabilities, has given it a clear operational advantage over US forces in the region.
China has a stockpile of about 600 hypersonic weapons. Which can travel five times faster than the speed of sound and are extremely difficult to stop.
It should be noted that Beijing considers Taiwan as part of its territory. It has a clear position that this island with a population of 23 million will eventually be reunited with China. Taiwan declares itself an independent, sovereign country. And says that its future will be decided only by its people, not China.
National Security Advisor Jack Sullivan has also warned. That in the event of a war with China, America’s key weapons would be depleted very quickly.
