President, PM express condolences over Venezuela earthquake tragedy

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the earthquake in Venezuela.

Expressing sorrow over the loss of lives in the earthquake, President Zardari said that he sympathizes with the government and people of Venezuela in this difficult time, the people of Pakistan share equally in the grief of the people of Venezuela.

The President prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured in the earthquake and said that he hopes the people of Venezuela will confront this tragedy with courage and determination.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow over the destruction and loss of precious lives in the earthquake in Venezuela and said that on behalf of Pakistan, I express my heartfelt condolences to the government, people of Venezuela and the families of the victims.

The Prime Minister said that he prays for the speedy recovery of those injured in the earthquake, and expresses complete solidarity with the affected people in this difficult and difficult time.

It should be noted that severe earthquake tremors have been felt in various countries of the world, including Venezuela, the Caribbean Islands, the United States, Mexico and the continental United States, after which a tsunami warning was issued.

In Venezuela, dozens of buildings, including a 22-story building, collapsed due to earthquakes of magnitude 7.1 and 7.5 in magnitude. As a result, 32 people were killed and 700 injured. The interim president of Venezuela has confirmed the deaths.

According to the US Geological Survey, the magnitude of the earthquake in the US state of California was recorded at 5.6, and the tremors were felt as far as Japan.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 284 kilometers east of the capital Caracas. A tsunami warning was issued immediately after the earthquake, and a state of emergency has also been declared across the country.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.9, was centered near the coast of Iwate and was 50 kilometers deep.
