Russia condemns US-Israel strikes on Iran, calls for diplomatic solution

MOSCOW: Russia has said that Iran refused to follow the dictates of the US and Israel, so the US and Israel want to overthrow the Iranian government.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in its statement that the situation should be brought to an immediate political and diplomatic understanding, Russia is ready to help find a peaceful solution in accordance with international law, a peaceful solution to the conflict should be based on mutual respect and balanced interests.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the attack on Iran is a clear violation of the basic principles and norms of international law against a sovereign and independent member state of the United Nations.

The statement said that it is particularly condemnable that these attacks are being carried out once again at a time when the negotiation process is being renewed to normalize the situation with the Islamic Republic of Iran on a long-term basis.

Russia said that all this is happening despite the assurances given to the Russian side that Israel is not interested in a military confrontation with Iran.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the bombing of nuclear facilities operating under the supervision of the IAEA is unacceptable. It undermines the international foundations of the world order.
